Deut 20.1-4
Deut. 20:1 Lorsque tu iras à la guerre contre tes ennemis, et que tu verras des chevaux et des chars, et un peuple plus nombreux que toi, tu ne les craindras point; car l’Eternel, ton Dieu, qui t’a fait monter du pays d’Egypte, est avec toi. 2 A l’approche du combat, le sacrificateur s’avancera et parlera au peuple. 3 Il leur dira: Ecoute, Israël! Vous allez aujourd’hui livrer bataille à vos ennemis. Que votre coeur ne se trouble point; soyez sans crainte, ne vous effrayez pas, ne vous épouvantez pas devant eux. 4 Car l’Eternel, votre Dieu, marche avec vous, pour combattre vos ennemis, pour vous sauver.
Des chances de réussite insurmontables ne signifient pas que vous devez avoir peur.
Rappelez-vous :
L'Éternel ton Dieu : Il est notre Dieu, il connaît l'ennemi, il connaît nos capacités, il sait ce que nous endurons, il sait comment nous délivrer.
Il nous a délivrés dans le passé :
Pense à ton salut. Si Dieu vous a sauvé de l'enfer, il peut vous sauver de tout ce qui viendra dans votre vie
Pensez à ses délivrances passée : combien de fois avez-vous été dans une situation similaire et le Seigneur vous a protégé et délivré.
2. Il est avec nous :
Notre Dieu qui est au-dessus de toutes choses, que ce soit les guerres, les tremblements de terre ou la peste, notre Créateur, est avec nous. Vous pouvez marcher dans la bataille en sachant qu'Il est à vos côtés. Vous pouvez être malade et au lit et savoir qu'il ne vous abandonnera pas. Il est avec vous. Tout aussi réel que s'il était assis à côté de vous et tout aussi réel que si vous pouviez l'entendre respirer, Il est avec vous.
3. Il marche avec nous. Nous pourrions nous isoler sur une île lointaine, sans personne pour nous infecter... ce qui n'est pas possible pour 99 % d'entre nous. Nous sommes au milieu d'une guerre et il y a un ennemi invisible qui pourrait nous enlever la vie. Il y a des travailleurs de la santé, des agents de la force publique, des éboueurs, des postiers et des fonctionnaires qui n'ont pas le choix. Ils doivent se rendre quotidiennement sur le champ de bataille. Dieu a promis de vous accompagner.
4. Dieu a promis de combattre pour vous. Je veux que Dieu se batte pour moi. Il n'y a aucune chance pour mon ennemi quand Dieu se bat. Combien de fois Dieu a-t-il déjà combattu pour vous ? Il l'a fait dans le passé et il le fera encore, et il se bat encore maintenant.
5. Dieu a promis de vous sauver. Vous voulez être sauvé. Personne ne veut mourir au combat. Tout comme Dieu peut vous sauver de n'importe quelle calamité, il peut aussi vous sauver de l'enfer.
Dieu ne veut pas qu'aucun périsse, mais que tous arrivent à la repentance.
Ésa 45.22 Tournez-vous vers moi, et vous serez sauvés, Vous tous qui êtes aux extrémités de la terre! Car je suis Dieu, et il n’y en a point d’autre.
Si vous avez réglé la question de votre salut éternel, vous pouvez aller au combat avec l'assurance que Dieu est avec vous et se battra pour vous et qu'il vous sauvera en fin de compte.
Nous arrivons à un autre carrefour de notre vie. Nous ne savons pas ce que l'avenir pourrait nous réserver. Dieu le sait. Il est en contrôle absolu et il est avec nous et il combat pour nous.
The Lord of Hosts
1 “When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.
2 “When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.
3 “He shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,
4 for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’
Overwhelming odds against you does not mean you should be afraid.
Remember :
The Lord Your God : He is our God, he knows the enemy, he knows our capacities, he knows what we endure, he knows how to deliver.
He has delivered us in the past :
Think of your salvation. If God saved you from hell, he can save you from anything that will come in your life
Think of his past deliverance : how many times have you been in a similar situation and the Lord protected, and delivered you.
He is with us : our God who is over all things, whether they be wars or earthquakes or pestilence, our Creator, is with us. You can march into battle knowing that He is next to you. You can be sick and bed and know that he will not forsake you. He is with you. Just as real as if he were sitting next to you and just as real as if you could hear him breathing, He is with you.
He goes with us. We could isolate ourselves on some far island with no one else around to infect us…that is not possible for 99% of us. We are in the middle of a war and there is an invisible enemy that could possibly take our life. There are health care workers and law enforcement officers and garbage men and postal workers and government officials that have no choice. They must go out daily into the battle. God has promised to go with you.
God has promised to fight for you. I want God fighting for me. There are not chances for my enemy when God is fighting. How many times has God already fought for you? He has done in the past and he will do it again and he is fighting even now.
God has promised to save you. You want to be saved. No one wants to die in battle. Just as God can save you from whatever calamity might come, He can also save you from hell.
God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Look unto me and be saved all the ends of the earth…
Is. 45:22 “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
If you have settled the matter of your eternal salvation, you can go into battle with the assurance that God is with you and will fight for you and that he will ultimately save you.
We come to another crossroad in our life. We do not know what the future could hold. God knows. He is in absolute control.
